Reach Grade 7-9 in GCSE English Literature
— with 3 other students aiming high
What is Small-Group Mastercourse?
Each Small-Group Mastercourse helps a group of 4 ambitious GCSE students working at grade 6 and above write top-level English Literature essays on 1 particular set text.
This isn’t a mass-produced revision guide or lecture series telling you what to learn, then never practising it with you.
It’s a live, personalised programme exploring 1 of your set texts in far greater depth than you can at school — giving you the method, resources, and dedicated mentorship needed to write your best essays yet.
Live Workshops
3 months of weekly deep-dives into your set text, strengths, and challenges. Extended to 75 minutes each — so we always have time to get into the details.
Students
Small enough for classes to be personalised, big enough to foster peer-learning. Built-in access to the alternative interpretations examiners love to see.
Focus
Enjoy sophisticated literary exploration grounded in exam-relevant strategy. Learn deep, original ideas along with practical methods to target top grades.
Homework Tasks
Take action and put your learning into practice with 12 exam-style homework tasks — each one given written feedback to track progress and help you do better every single week.
Mock Exams
The first to check what you need to improve, the second to prove to yourself you can do it.
Pages of Exclusive Notes
A library of top-grade content with original ideas you won't find elsewhere — going to grade 9 and beyond.

1-to-1 makes sense if you need or prefer fully bespoke support —for example, if studying a set text or board not covered by the Mastercourse, or if you want revision notes and exam strategy fully customised for you.
The Mastercourse works differently: it's a comprehensive programme built for students with similar goals and requirements to learn from me and each other, resulting in the discursive, layered essays examiners love, all at a more accessible price point.
-
It will require effort — weekly live workshops, homework, and two mock exams.
But it's my job to make hard things feel manageable and fun.
The small group size means no one gets lost. I make it a priority to check on students who might be nervous to participate by observing their engagement in written homework and building up their confidence in workshops.
-
Anyone who promises a specific grade should be treated with scepticism.
But this method has helped many students achieve grade 7, 8 and 9 in the past.
If you fully engage in the course — every workshop, homework task, mock exam — and practise what you’ve learned between the course end date and your official exams, you’ll be MUCH more likely to achieve grade 7+ in the set text covered.
Strong results come from strong efforts!
-
Every session is recorded and uploaded to your shared Google Drive folder so you can catch up in your own time.
You can access these recordings until your final Year 11 exams.

Yes — the refund policy is built with a safety net.
The course is paid in two instalments. The first is due to secure your spot; the second before workshop 7.
The total refundable amount decreases as the course progresses, in recognition of how later withdrawals reduce group integrity and opportunities to refill the place.
See the full refund schedule below:
Before the course starts — a full refund of instalment 1, no questions asked ; second instalment not charged
After workshop 1 — a full refund of instalment 1, no questions asked; second instalment not charged
Workshops 2–6 — instalment 1, non-refundable; second instalment not charged
Workshop 7 onwards — no refund available; by this point the cohort is too far into the course to fill the place, and both instalments are due
